Weekend Teaser: Will the Bees frighten the Steeldogs defence on Halloween weekend?

Bees desire for points not letting up Two points to show from a challenging weekend   The Bees travelled to Leeds last Saturday for what is probably the hardest away fixture in the calendar. Both goalies gave incredible performances and it required amazing goals to decide the game. Sadly for Bees Leeds produced 4 of these compared to their 1 but don't consider the result a bad defeat. Bees were not outclassed by the league leaders and on another night the result could have been very different. Vanya Antonov scored Bees goal, a nice tip in front of Gospel although we're not sure he hasn't been credited with the goal in his stats, an oversight maybe? Final score Knights 4 - 1 Bees. Sunday saw the Hull Seahawks make the journey to Slough. Having had a rest day the day before and having beaten Bees 7-0 just two weeks previously you would think they would be marginal favourites for this tie. Bees, who were shortbenched with Rosbottom, Smith and Harvey Stead missing at the sta...

Weekend Teaser: Weekends don't come any tougher than this

Bees look to add more points after strong start to the season A hard earned three point weekend Friday evening saw the Bees navigate the M25 to play the Raiders in Romford. Bees had managed to sign Ty Cathcart as cover for Harvey Stead who was unavailable for the third match in a row. Bees made a perfect start with the first goal coming from Dom and then two from Aidan Doughty giving the Bees a 3-0 lead at the end of the first. A scoreless second period left Raiders with a lot to do in the third. Nick Leyer brought the scoreline back to 3-1 but Bees then stopped the Raiders comeback with two further goals from Moggy and Balaz. This was a whole team effort as Brython Preece made many great saves plus the players who didn't get on the scoresheet also played their part with shutting down the Raiders and drawing clever penalties too (notable Olly Knaggs who caused the Raiders a few headaches).  Sunday saw the Sharks make their first visit to Slough and boy did they show the Bees ...

Bees look to add more points after strong start to the season A weekend of highs and lows and one heck of a round trip! Early Saturday morning saw the Bees start their journey up to Dumfries for their first encounter with the league's new boys. Many have predicted the Solway Sharks will set the league on fire and that may well happen as the season progresses but Bees had the edge as the Sharks bit off more than they could chew. Dom Gabaj was the first to strike before Liam Morris doubled Bees lead in the first period. A scoreless second period was to follow but just 1.35 into the third period Marcel Balaz scored a powerplay goal to put the result beyond Sharks reach. Sharks did get a consolation goal before Brendan Baird finished the scoring for the night with a great blue line shot. Sunday saw the Bees cross the border again as they took the comparatively shorter trip to Hull. The Seahawks have had an incredible start to the season and unfortunately for Bees their winning streak ...

Weekend Teaser: Bees show the league they mean business

Bees go on a road trip looking for points Bees show the league they are not here to make up the numbers!  Saturday evening saw the Bees visit Bristol looking to continue their winning streak and the Pitbulls didn't come close to preventing the Bees achieving their aim. Bees raced to a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period and extended the lead further to 7-0 at the end of the second. They took their foot off the peddle in the third, points were in the bag already and they were mindful that the league and playoff champions were their next opponents the following evening. The Pitbulls scored twice in the final period which gave a 7-2 win for the Bees but the outcome was never in doubt. Bees goals were scored By Mogg, Balaz, Rosbottom and Landsbergs with a goal a piece and Gabaj with a hattrick. Bees early success in the league has been due to many factors and whilst the imports, currently number 2 and 3 top point scorers in the league, are a huge scoring force goals can come ...
