Save the Bees Campaign

A group of longtime supporters of the Bees have got together to try and help make sure that there is a future for the Bees and hopefully continuing to ice next season.

See below the release for the campaign:

We, the devoted supporters of the Berkshire Bees Ice Hockey Team, are reaching out to you today with an urgent plea. Our beloved Bees are facing a significant challenge in their ability to compete in the upcoming season. For so many of us – families, children, and lifelong fans – the Berkshire Bees are more than just a team; they are the heart of our community. Attending games is a cherished tradition, a place where we come together, united by our passion for the sport and our unwavering support for the players. It's a family atmosphere, a place where memories are made and friendships are forged. While dedicated individuals are working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure a sustainable, long-term future for the club, we face an immediate hurdle in ensuring the Bees can take to the ice this season. We urgently need community funding to bridge this gap. Your generous contribution, no matter the size, will directly support the team's essential operational costs, allowing them to compete and continue to bring the excitement of Bees hockey to our community. It will mean that the roar of the crowd can once again fill the rink, that the dreams of our players can be realised, and that the tradition we hold so dear can continue. We understand that times are challenging for many, but we sincerely hope you will consider contributing to keep the Berkshire Bees alive this season.     What does weekend five have in store for the Bees? Season weekend four review  Just got to start with a wow! Left the rink on Saturday night saying to myself my season ticket was worth it for that game alone. The Knights were in town and as they are lasy year's league champions and currently sit top of the league many would have thought the result was a foregone conclusion. The Bees had not had a win over the Knights since Halloween 2021 but they wanted this win badly. A Howlett goal for Leeds in the first period put the Knights ahead but the Bees were not going down. It took until the fourth minute of the third period for Bees to draw level as Dominik Gabaj scored. With just under 5 minutes to go in regulation Stuart Mogg scored the Bees go ahead goal. Knights were unable to put a second goal into Max Wright's net and finally Bees had put the run of losses against the Knights to bed. New Signing: Edgars Landsbergs

  Edgars Landsbergs Joins the Bees Edgars has joined the Bees from Basingstoke Bison. He was born in Latvia but spent his junior development at Coventry Blaze making appearances for the under 16's and under 18's followed by a year at the OHA in Swindon. This all means that under the NIHL National rules of competition he is classified as a British trained player. After the year in Swindon he headed across the pond where he spent four years in the Canadian and US development leagues before heading to Poland where Covid cut short his spell with MKS Cracovia Krakow. In 2021/2022 he played for Milton Keynes Lightning before making the move to Basingstoke last season. He has impressive stats from his year at Bison with 16 goals and 17 assists in the regular season, these would have put him level with the 5th points scorer for Bees that season with only three Bees players scoring more goals than him in the regular season which makes this a really exciting signing.
