Weekend Teaser: A repeat of last weekend with the Cats and Dogs
What does weekend twenty six have in store for the Bees?
Season weekend twenty five review
Last weekend was the Bees chance to take themselves off the bottom of the league and although four points was their aim, the fixture against the Pitbulls was the one that really counted. The Bristol team have definitely had their fair share of problems over the last few weeks as they battled on with a depleted team. For them things seemed on the up as all those on the injured list returned to the line up against the Bees but it wasn't to be enough for them. The Bees dominated the game coming away with a 5-1 win. Every Bees player gave their all but the star of the night was Adam Rosbottom who banked a hattrick. The Pitbulls were the first to score but once the Bees got started there was no stopping them, the goals coming from Adam Rosbottom (3), Marcel Balaz and Dominik Gabaj.
Sunday saw the Wildcats visit Slough and the Bees were not able to replicate their superb performance of the night before with the Swindon team winning 4-0.
My opinion - Bees were focused on beating the Pitbulls to get themselves off the bottom of the table and the plan worked to perfection. The Pitbulls didn't do themselves any favours with their lack of discipline, most of this was due to frustration and it was clear many players were still carrying injuries.
Sunday saw a Bees team unable to break the opposition. I didn't feel the team played badly at all, I think the effort they put into the previous evening's win just put them at a disadvantage. Tactically the two points taken from the Pitbulls was exactly what the Bees needed to do and any points on Sunday would have been a bonus.

Next: A visit to the Wildcats followed by a home game against the Pitbulls
A rare Friday night game sees the Bees head to Swindon for a 7.30pm face off. The Wildcats are comfortably third in the league now and it's unlikely that position will change. They will be trying to keep their side injury free with the playoffs around the corner and with a trip up to Solway on Saturday they will also need to pace themselves too. Their top scorer Jake Bricknell is 8 points away from 100 points this season and the depth in their squad means every line is a threat. The game is almost sold out so if you haven't bought tickets yet you may have to settle for standing tickets as the away block is sold out probably as a result of Wildcats fans spilling into that area.
The Bees get a day off on Saturday before the Pitbulls visit Slough on Sunday. The Pitbulls will be keen to reverse the result in Bristol last Saturday as the battle for 10th place in the league continues and the Bees will do everything in their power to prevent this. A lot of the Pitbulls chances will depend on whether they can ice some of their injured players. They have bolstered their defence by bringing in Lee Duance from the Pitbulls 2 team. Lee has played 18 games this season between both the Pitbulls teams. He is also a member of the Royal Navy Destroyers ice hockey team and works as a performance coach.
There may be some two way players available to the Bees as both the Slough Jets and Streatham only have one fixture each this weekend. Slough play on Saturday and Streatham play on Sunday.
All that is left to say is safe travels to the Bees players and the travelling fans heading to Swindon on Friday and to the Pitbulls players and travelling fans heading to Slough on Sunday.
Come on you Bees!
