Weekend Teaser: Do the Bees have a Christmas present for the fans this weekend?

What does weekend fifteen have in store for the Bees?

Season weekend fourteen review

A double header away weekend in Solway with a short benched Bees squad was always going to be tough. The Sharks made the most of the Bees misfortune with 9-3 and 6-3 wins over the two games. The Bees players gave their all and Will Stead definitely took on the challenge scoring 5 goals over the two games.

My opinion - it was one of those weekends when the players who were able to travel had the hardest job. Honestly they did incredibly well, there were too many obstacles in their way to realistically get the wins but they did themselves and the fans proud.

Player of the Weekend Result

Congratulations to Will Stead who is the player of the weekend, he wins thanks to your votes on Twitter with 95% of the vote. With a 5 goal haul at the weekend it was never going to be anyone else!

Next: Home and Away to the Phantoms

Bees have already played the Phantoms home and away this season and both games were extremely close. At home the Bees lost 2-1 and away the Bees picked up a point for an overtime loss. The Phantoms sit 4th in the league although they missed out on a cup semi-final place. Like Bees, the Phantoms have an import goalie and Hayden Lavigne currently has a 90.36% save percentage just slightly above Max Wright who has 90.11%. The Phantoms have a very dangerous line up with numerous players who can be a huge threat in front of the goal. Janne Laakkonen, Cameron Hough and Luke Ferrara are their top three points scorers but it is the depth of their squad which makes them so dangerous to play.

Bees have been bolstered by a couple of signings in the week. Jacob Ranson has made the move from Romford, he is a hard-working and well-liked player who will definitely fit right in with the Bees. Pretty sure he will become a fan favourite in no time. The second signing is Josh Martin who returns to the Bees from Streatham. Hard working, tough and a great play maker make Josh a great addition to the Bees and we are so happy to see him back.

There is good news as we expect to see the return of Adam Rosbottom and Hallam Wilson this weekend, it will be great to see them back on the ice as the Bees look to return to winning ways. The bad news is that it appears Josh Smith is unable to ice and also Liam Morris will be missing due to suspension.

Both the Slough Jets and Streatham have two fixtures this weekend but the Cardiff Canucks have a free weekend so Josh Poole will be in the Bees lineup. This does mean there may be 3 Josh's on the ice for the Bees but we're not complaining!

Saturday night sees the Bees "Air the Bear" event where fans are requested to bring new and bagged bears to donate to the Alexander Devine Children's Hospice. It's a great cause and we hope when the Bees score their first goal the ice is covered in bears for them.

Safe travels to the Phantoms and their fans travelling to Slough on Saturday and the Bees and their travelling fans heading to Peterborough on Sunday.

Come on you Bees!

Finally, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas from all of us at the Berkshire Bees Fans.
