Weekend Teaser: The battle for a playoff place intensifies
Bees look to steal points from the Wildcats
Three point weekend keeps Bees in playoff contention
On Saturday Bees made the trip to Bristol to play the Pitbulls who are currently sat at the bottom of the league table. Having tied the series so far this season with two wins each it was going to be a close affair and with a scoreline of 2-2 at the end of regulation an overtime goal scored by Pitbulls was to decide the fixture. Bees goals were scored by Gianni Vitali and Marcel Balaz.
Sunday saw the Hull Seahawks visit Slough and Bees knew how important these 2 points would be to keep pressure on the teams in the battle for a playoff place. Seahawks took a one goal lead into the first period break. Bees were to draw level in the second period with Gianni Vitali finding the net. Seahawks then regained the lead with a shorthanded goal but Marcel Balaz was able to tie the game again, the teams finishing the period 2-2. In the third period Bees were to go ahead for the first time on the night with another goal from Gianni and Marcel stretched Bees lead further before Adam Rosbottom added another to the tally. At 5-2 the Seahawks weren't beaten yet and after bringing the scoreline back to 5-3 they pulled thier goalie and the extra man gave Hull the goal to take them within one of the Bees. With the goalie pulled again, Hull worked hard looking for the equaliser and despite the Bees having three attempts at the empty net without success they hung on for the victory with a final scoreline of 5-4.

Next - Just one game for Bees as the Wildcats visit Slough on Sunday
Bees welcome Swindon to Slough on Sunday (5pm face off). Despite having rink issues for the first half of the season which seriously messed with the Wildcats training and match schedule they have found themselves in third place in the league, seven points adrift of second and the same margin ahead of fourth. So far this season Wildcats have had the edge on every meeting between them and the Bees so Bees will have to be on top form for this match. Swindon have two games this weekend and with Bees only having one we can hope this will work in the Bees favour. With Raiders making the trip to Solway on Saturday one of these teams will go ahead of Bees on Saturday night, let's hope this is only temporary and Bees finally find winning ways against the Wildcats.
All that is left to say is safe travels to the players and travelling fans from Swindon.
Come on you Bees!
