New Signing: Vanya Antonov

Welcome back Vanya, the first fresh signing ahead of next season.

Giving the fans what they wanted, Dom brings Vanya back to the Bees. Every Bees fan was disappointed when Vanya announced he was stepping down from playing with the Bees in early 2020 to pursue an opportunity outside of ice hockey. However, his plans changed and he found himself on the roster with Streatham IHC as the structure of their league was more suited to his off ice requirements. Bees were fortunate to borrow him when needed, within the league rules, and he was always influential when wearing the black, white and gold.  Vanya's stats during his time at Streatham are outstanding with 246 points in 90 games, but we are not surprised as we all know he makes a huge impact on the ice with his skill and speed. Vanya would be an asset to any team in our league so Dom must be thrilled that he has got him to put pen to paper for 23/24.

Weekend Teaser: Season firsts against the Sharks and Raiders

    What does weekend five have in store for the Bees? Season weekend four review  Just got to start with a wow! Left the rink on Saturday night saying to myself my season ticket was worth it for that game alone. The Knights were in town and as they are lasy year's league champions and currently sit top of the league many would have thought the result was a foregone conclusion. The Bees had not had a win over the Knights since Halloween 2021 but they wanted this win badly. A Howlett goal for Leeds in the first period put the Knights ahead but the Bees were not going down. It took until the fourth minute of the third period for Bees to draw level as Dominik Gabaj scored. With just under 5 minutes to go in regulation Stuart Mogg scored the Bees go ahead goal. Knights were unable to put a second goal into Max Wright's net and finally Bees had put the run of losses against the Knights to bed. New Signing: Edgars Landsbergs

  Edgars Landsbergs Joins the Bees Edgars has joined the Bees from Basingstoke Bison. He was born in Latvia but spent his junior development at Coventry Blaze making appearances for the under 16's and under 18's followed by a year at the OHA in Swindon. This all means that under the NIHL National rules of competition he is classified as a British trained player. After the year in Swindon he headed across the pond where he spent four years in the Canadian and US development leagues before heading to Poland where Covid cut short his spell with MKS Cracovia Krakow. In 2021/2022 he played for Milton Keynes Lightning before making the move to Basingstoke last season. He has impressive stats from his year at Bison with 16 goals and 17 assists in the regular season, these would have put him level with the 5th points scorer for Bees that season with only three Bees players scoring more goals than him in the regular season which makes this a really exciting signing.
