What does weekend seven have in store for the Bees? Season weekend six review  A weekend of mixed fortunes as Bees faced the Pitbulls away and then back in Slough. The Pitbulls have had a difficult start to the season and on Saturday evening in Bristol the Bees were definitely the better side despite being short benched and losing Balaz in the first period. Bees came away with a 4-2 win with the goals coming from Marcel Balaz, Adam Rosbottom, Will Stead and Vanya Antonov. Dominik Gabaj assisted on three of the four goals. Bees welcomed the Pitbulls to Slough on Sunday and the team from Bristol were looking for revenge for the previous night's defeat. Despite the Bees being 2-1 up with goals from Liam Morris and Will Stead, they allowed the away team back into the game. The Pitbulls made the most of their chances and left Slough with a slender 3-2 victory.     My opinion - When the lower half of the league is so tight wins against your nearest ri...

What does weekend six have in store for the Bees? Season weekend five review  As with last week it was a weekend of highs and lows. On Saturday evening the Bees welcomed the Solway Sharks to Slough and the Bees came away with a 5-3 victory after an entertaining evening of hockey and fun as the Shark's fans entertained us with their costumes. On target for the Bees were Marcel Balaz and Will Stead with two goals each and Dominik Gabaj with one. Bees travelled over to Romford on the Sunday to meet the Raiders. They are the surprise team so far this season and within minutes of the game starting it was obvious why. They were extremely quick which enabled them to get in good scoring positions ahead of the Bees defence. Bees actually outshot the Raiders but the combination of Raiders speed and finishing and Ethan James' performance in goal ensured that Raiders came away with a 7-2 win. Bees goals came from Marcel Balaz and Vanya Antonov.     My opinion - Hockey is...

What does weekend five have in store for the Bees? Season weekend four review  Just got to start with a wow! Left the rink on Saturday night saying to myself my season ticket was worth it for that game alone. The Knights were in town and as they are lasy year's league champions and currently sit top of the league many would have thought the result was a foregone conclusion. The Bees had not had a win over the Knights since Halloween 2021 but they wanted this win badly. A Howlett goal for Leeds in the first period put the Knights ahead but the Bees were not going down. It took until the fourth minute of the third period for Bees to draw level as Dominik Gabaj scored. With just under 5 minutes to go in regulation Stuart Mogg scored the Bees go ahead goal. Knights were unable to put a second goal into Max Wright's net and finally Bees had put the run of losses against the Knights to bed. Got to take our hat off to Max Wright who only conceded one goal all evening wi...

What does weekend four have in store for the Bees? Season weekend three review  Bees started with a home fixture against the MK Lightning on Saturday evening, having played them pre-season the Bees knew what to expect to a degree. The Lightning came away 6-3 winners with the Bees goals coming from Liam Morris, Vanya Antonov and Adam Rosbottom. This was always going to be a hard game for the Bees who were short-benched as the majority of the two-way signings were unavailable due to fixture clashes. The officiating was disappointingly poor and, although it may not have directly influenced the final result, it didn't do the Bees any favours.  Bees travelled up to Shropshire on the Sunday to meet the Telford team for the first time this season. Tigers have had an unusually poor start to the season failing to get a win on the board. Bees, although again short of skaters, knew they needed to take advantage of this lull and this they did coming out 6-3 victors. The star ...
