Bees look to sting the Knights and Pitbulls A well deserved point against Lightning The Bees only had one fixture last weekend but it was a big one as the Milton Keynes Lightning made their first visit to Slough this season. MKL are never a team to take lightly and it was clear that Dom and the boys had a game plan to keep the Lightning at bay. Bees were missing Jack Hoppes, Ryan Webb and Josh Kelly but were boosted by Ty Cathcart and of course Gianni Vitali the new import who had now had some time to recover from jet lag. It was Gianni who was to put the Bees ahead but not until 37.18 into the game and they took the 1-0  lead into the second period break. As you would expect from MKL they worked hard looking for the equaliser and it came to them 6.23 into the third period, Herrman finding the net. Neither team were able to find the game winner in regulation so 5 minutes sudden death overtime was required. Bees had some good chances to finish the game off but Will Kerlin, who...

Weekend Teaser: Bees hope to be faster than Lightning

Bees still picking up the points A 50/50 weeekend for the Bees   Barely 12 hours after landing in the UK, Gianni Vitali was on the ice with the Bees for the first fixture of the weekend against the Telford Tigers. In addition to Gianni, Bees saw the return of Harvey Stead who has been out for a few weeks.  The Bees welcomed the Telford Tigers to Slough for their first visit this season and Tigers soon found themselves chasing the Bees as goals by Gabaj and Balaz gave the Bees a 2-0 lead at the end of the first. Tigers came out all fired up for the second period and clawed back the 2 goal lead to leave the teams tied at the 40 minute mark. It's fair to say that we don't see much roughing/fighting in Slough but Tigers decided to liven things up a bit at the end of the second. Tiger's Peca received a 5+game penalty for a one-sided altercation with Bees' Morris, and Balaz received a 2 minute unsportsmanlike conduct was called at the same time. Then on the buzzer ...

Bees continue to bag the points A loss on the road and a home win   With the players and fans still coming to terms with the loss of Adam Johnson, last weekend teams across the country were paying their respects and proving why hockey is not just a sport but a family too. Good news for the weekend was the return of Adam Rosbottom to the Bees line up. Harvey Stead and Josh Kelly were still on the injury balcony, Harvey will return to the line up tonight and we hope to see Josh back on the ice very soon. The Bees travelled to Milton Keynes last Saturday for what is probably the second hardest away fixture in the calendar after Leeds.  Bees took an early two goal lead thanks to Dan Rose and a short-handed goal from Marcel Balaz. Lightning were able to get back into the game with two quality plays and a lucky goal to lead 3-2 at the end of the first. MKL were to win the second period 3-1 with Bees goal coming from Balaz. The third period saw an altercation between Light...

New Signing: Gianni Vitali

New import signs as Gianni Vitali joins the Bees We all wondered if the Bees had anything left in the kitty for a third import and the answer is we do! Gianni Vitali makes the move across the pond for his first team outside of the USA. His career to date has been played in 5 leagues in his home country before making the move to join the Bees. The forward hails from Grand Rapids in Michigan, is 6'2" and shoots right.  Bees coach Dominik Gabaj will be playing around with the lines to find the best fit for Gianni as he is very versatile playing both centre and on the wing.     Gianni is 26 years old and is the third import on Bees 23/24 roster. He will be wearing number 29. The fans will have to stop singing "we only need two imports" now but there must be some new chants in the making with Gianni's name being so rhythmical. Can't wait to see what they come up with. Welcome to the Bees Gianni!
