What does weekend three have in store for the Bees? Season weekend two review  Having met both teams the previous weekend Bees knew what to expect from these games. An away game at the playoff champions, Peterborough Phantoms, started the weekend and just like the previous weekend it was to be a close affair. Bees opened up the scoring with Will Stead getting a tip on Stuart Mogg's shot but Phantoms were able to bag two goals to end the first period 2-1 ahead. The second period saw the Bees equalise with the only goal of the 20 minutes being a superb move and shot from Vanya Antonov. There was a goal apiece in the third with Dominik Gabaj scoring on the powerplay to tie the game and secure a point for the Bees. Overtime was scoreless and the lottery of penalty shots went in Phantoms favour. All in all a very entertaining game with Bees picking up their first point of the season. Sunday saw the Wildcats visit Slough. When the teams met the previous weekend there was con...

What does weekend two have in store for the Bees? Season weekend one review  An away game at Swindon and a home game to the playoff champions, Peterborough Phantoms, was never going to be an easy start to the Bees league campaign. The Wildcats appeared to be an in form team based on their pre season results and Bees kept them at bay for the first period with some doubt whether the Wildcats first goal went over the line or not. After a debate it was given and the teams went into the period one break tied at 1-1. Wildcats went on to dominate the Bees in the next two periods finishing with a 6-2 win. Both Bees goals came from Marcel Balaz.  Like us, Phantoms have utilised one import slot for their goalie, Hayden Lavigne. Phantoms opened the scoring with a sniper from the blue line before Vanya Antonov equalised for the Bees bringing the first period to a close tied at 1-1. The second period was scoreless and Phantoms got their go ahead goal 7 minutes into the third a...

Pre-season done as the Bees start their league campaign Pre-season with the MK Lightning  The Bees travelled to Milton Keynes on Saturday for the first of two games with our local rivals the Lightning. There was no cup at stake, just an opportunity to put the players through their paces whilst evaluating the offensive and defensive lines and the powerplay and penalty kill strategies. Both the Bees netminders shared the game with new goalie Max Wright starting for the Bees and Brett Shepherd swapping with him during the second period. Bees didn't make the best start as Lightning dominated the first 11 minutes with 4 unanswered goals. Bees managed to adapt and this worked as MK were unable to add to their tally and at the end of the first period Bees were trailing 4-0. Bees scored the only goal of the second period as Josh Smith placed himself perfectly for a pass from Will Stead. The third period saw Liam Morris score with a powerplay goal and then Hallam Wilson brought the Be...
