Returning: Josh Martin

Image
Bees move onto 11 forwards with the resigning of Josh Martin Bees IHC have announced another returning player to the squad. Josh Martin re-signed for his 5 th consecutive season as a Bee. Prior to joining the Bees, he played his youth hockey with the Guildford and had an 11-game stint with the Solent Devils. He has also ventured onto the ice as a Bees junior mascot too. Josh consistently contributes 20+ points each season, is effective on the penalty kill and is a strong physical player. Coach Sheppard continues to put his faith in Josh and see that he has the potential to improve on his points tally. The team had a strong finish to the end of last season and, if they can maintain and build on this, there is no reason why Josh can’t have the breakthrough season that Doug believes he can achieve. Here is a reminder of the current Bees team for next season: Goaltenders Adam Goss Dan Weller-Evans Defensemen Luke Jackson Stuart Mogg (C) Harvey Stead Forwards Dominik Gabaj (I) Alan L...

Returning: Adam Goss

Both netminders are confirmed as Adam Goss returns At last, the player announcement we have all waited patiently for and we can all give out a sigh of relief. Coach Sheppard has finally revealed that Adam Goss is returning between the pipes for another season with the Bees. Recording a .894 save percentage last season puts Gossy up there with the best goalies in the league and he is more than capable of improving on this during the upcoming season. The last couple of months of last season showed the Bees could compete with the best in the league and you can only feel that with confirmation of the net minding duo of Gossy and DWE and the new signings the Bees should be in the running for some silverware. What's left for the Bees to sign? Netminders completed, forwards are almost full but the one spot that continues to have gaps is the defensive side of the team. No matter the netminder, they can't stop everything and a solid defence will need to be in front of Goss if the Bees...

New Signing: Brendan Walkom

Image
Dominik Gabaj has a partner, Brendan Walkom is in town! The wait is over as Bees have announced who will fill their second import slot. Brendan Walkom joins the team from a four-year placement at Bentley University in Massachusetts. The left shooting forward is 24 years old and the son of Stephen Walkom who currently serves as vice president and director of officiating for the National Hockey League (NHL). Whilst his stats from the last four years may not be as impressive as you might hope, this player excelled during his time with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite, the Selects Academy and Amarillo Bulls and has the potential to be a major threat in the NIHL. Having played with one import for the majority of last season, this addition will have a huge impact on the team especially as both imports can ice at the same time (new ruling for 22/23 season) and will provide some relief for Dom who might actually get a chance to rest between shifts. Coach Sheppard has an eye for talent and Brenda...
