What does weekend twenty three have in store for the Bees? Season weekend twenty two review  The Bees had a double header weekend playing the Telford Tigers at home on Saturday night before heading to Shropshire the following evening. It's fair to say that the Tigers came out fighting on Saturday evening and the Bees were unable to play their style of play that has given them recent success against the Knights, Lightning and Wildcats and they found themselves 3-0 down by the 35 minute mark. The Bees did get on the scoreboard at 35.14 when Liam Morris put away a precise pass from Ollie Hemmings-Maher although the Tigers were to score again just 17 seconds later. A second goal for the Bees in the period scored by Dominik Gabaj saw the Tigers take a 4-2 lead into the third. They extended their lead again less than 5 minutes into the third and although Dominik Gabaj was to score his second goal of the night at 53.41 the Bees were unable to score again and the Tigers ...

What does weekend twenty two have in store for the Bees? Season weekend twenty one review  The Bees travelled to Swindon on Saturday to take on the Wildcats who are a serious contender in the league title race. The Bees have a knack of raising their game against the top teams and this is exactly what they did. The Wildcats took the lead early in the first with a goal scored by Aaron Nell but Bees' Ralf Circenis brought the scores level before the end of the period with a powerplay goal. With no goals in the second period there was all to play for in the third. Bees took the lead for the first time thanks to a powerplay goal scored by Will Stead timed at exactly 43 minutes and just over 7 minutes later the Wildcats equalised, Ryan Wells the scorer. The goal announcement hadn't even finished as just 20 seconds later Dominik Gabaj gave the Bees the lead again. The Wildcats then gave all they had and a goal scored by Malasinski in the 57th minute drew the scores level agai...

What does weekend twenty one have in store for the Bees? Season weekend twenty review  The Bees had a rare Friday night fixture with the Bristol Pitbulls who are their nearest rivals in the league table. The Pitbulls travelled without one of their imports and it looked like the Bees were in control at the end of the first as they led 2-0 thanks to an even-handed goal scored by Will Stead and a PPG scored by Josh Smith. The Pitbulls came out fighting in the second and by 25.10 they had brought the scores level with goals from Butler and Harewood. Josh Martin then scored for the Bees on the powerplay but in the last minute of the period Hill scored to bring the score level at 3-3 going into the break. Just over two minutes into the third Dominik Gabaj scored Bees fourth goal of the night, again on the powerplay and the Bees held on to the slender lead for twelve minutes until Cochrane scored the equaliser for the Pitbulls. There were no further goals in the third or in t...

What does weekend twenty have in store for the Bees? Season weekend nineteen review  It just wasn't the Bees weekend. Having seen off the Knights and Lightning over the previous two weekends it seemed the team had turned a corner on the bad luck they had suffered with a depleted roster due to injuries. It also looked like Vanya Antonov leaving to ply his trade at Swindon would not have a significant impact on the team but the team was to suffer defeats home and away with a 4-1 loss in both fixtures. The Telford Tigers travelled to Slough on Saturday and their imports were to dominate scoring all four of their goals. Bees goal was scored by Josh Martin, his first goal since he returned to the Bees last month. On Sunday the Bees travelled to Leeds to take on the Knights who are now in a title race battle with the Lightning and the Wildcats. The Bees took the lead in the first period with a goal scored by Dominik Gabaj but the Knights were to equalise before the end of th...

Weekend Teaser: Bees look to gain more ground on playoff hopefuls

What does weekend nineteen have in store for the Bees? Season weekend eighteen review  Last weekend saw the Bees have just one fixture against the league leaders the Milton Keynes Lightning. All eyes were on the Bees after they picked up an excellent win against the Leeds Knights the previous week and the fans were hopeful as finally the team were able to fill the bench with the return of many of the players who had been promoted from the injury bal cony. Bees took a 1-0 lead into the second period as Will Stead added another goal to his season's tally on the powerplay. The only goal of the second period was to tie the game as the Lightning's Sean Norris found the net in a period where the penalty boxes were pretty busy. Going into the third it was anyone's game and the Lightning were to go ahead at 44.49 thanks to a powerplay goal scored by Harry Gulliver. Bees were not disheartened and drew level just over three minutes later as Ralfs Circenis scored a beauty ...

What does weekend eighteen have in store for the Bees? Season weekend seventeen review  Weekends don't get any tougher than last weekend with an away trip to Milton Keynes Lightning followed by a home game against the Leeds Knights. The Lightning believe this season they will get their hands on the league title and given the Bees results over the last few months they probably also believed that this game was a foregone conclusion before it even started. I think it is fair to say that the game was closer than the 5-0 scoreline suggested. The Bees all played incredibly well and although they were unable to break Kerlin's shutout they worried the Lightning for a while. Max Wright was the Bees man of the match with a 90% save percentage conceding 5 goals from 50 shots. The following evening the Bees faced the Leeds Knights who were second in the league with games in hand but their weekend hadn't had the best start with a home loss to the Seahawks the day before. The Knight...

What does weekend seventeen have in store for the Bees? Season weekend fifteen and sixteen review  Bees last games before Christmas were a home and away fixture with the Peterborough Phantoms. With a fuller bench than we have seen of late, the Bees were the better team and although Phantoms were the first to score this was to be the only time all game that the Bees were behind. The whole team played incredibly well but two players need some praise; Max Wright recorded a 93.88% save percentage and Dominik Gabaj registered 2+3 on the night being involved in every Bees goal. Spirits were high as the Bees headed to Peterborough the following evening but frustratingly for the team and the travelling fans the game was postponed shortly before face off due to a faulty ice plant.  The twixmas games saw Bees play a double header with Romford. The Raiders won both evenings with 6-3 and 5-3 wins. Both games ended with an empty net goal for the East London team.   My opi...
